Where clubbing in Ibiza all began…

For an island steeped with such clubbing heritage, it’s difficult to justify the words “rite of passage” for clubbers who come to Ibiza to experience a super club in all its glory. However, Amnesia without doubt holds that position.

Beginning its life as an 18th century farmhouse (or “finca”), the location was transformed in 1970 into the club that is now known as Amnesia. It is the first club to have opened in Ibiza, and over the course of 5 decades has seen some of the most important parties to take place on the island.

Its 5,000 strong capacity is spread across two rooms: the gigantic terrace on your left when you arrive, and the smaller club room to your right. Balconies in both rooms offer VIP access including table service. Typically you can expect to pay an extra €20 on top of your ticket entry price for balcony access at the club.

“Mind blowing ice cannons, terrace parties till sunrise, and some of the most impressive lineups on the island”

  • Amnesia gets very busy, especially for its most popular party elrow. You should plan your arrival time accordingly. The dancefloor will be busiest from 1-3am.
  • If you want to avoid the crowds, consider paying for balcony access. It normally costs an extra €20 on top of your ticket price and you will get a better vantage point.
  • Be ready to party. Unless you’re VIP there isn’t really anywhere to take a breather at Amnesia, and the smoking area is essentially the back of the car park. You didn’t come to Ibiza to sit down at a club all night anyway though, right?!

Amnesia is located in the middle of Ibiza near San Rafael. A taxi from Ibiza town will cost you around €15, or €20 from San Antonio. You can take one of the free buses that are put on for ticket holders from Playa D’en Bossa, Ibiza Port and San Antonio.

Amnesia typically opens at midnight, and most parties finish at 6am.

Tickets for Amnesia range between €40-60, depending on the promoter of the night. You can expect to pay €20 extra for VIP balcony access. Buy tickets online in advance to save at least €10 extra on the door price.

For 2019, at Amnesia a beer costs €13, Water €9 and a spirit + mixer €21. You can buy drinks packages in advance from Amnesia’s website to save some money on your drinks.

Amnesia can hold up to 5,000 people.

There’s no dress code for general admission, just wear whatever you’re comfortable in. For tables service however the dress code is smart casual. Flipflops, sleeveless shirts and bikini tops are not permitted.
